My apron
Modelling the aprons

A friend (Mya) and I undertook a sewing project based on an apron she'd found at a garage sale.

re: melting crayons

More wax melts.

Easter eggs

The top is my brother's, the bottom two (the chicken and the face) are mine. (The face has a speech bubble that reads "DANGER EGG")

retro...like back to kindergarten

Wax crayon (cheers, Crayola!) on brown manila envelope, cut out and collaged, then ironed through baker's paper to melt the wax.

garnet

book project

Part of my book project for Douglas Coupland's Girlfriend in a Coma -- I used one of those huge pads of paper that elementary teachers use for vocabulary lists. I traced words from print-outs and painted roughly with black acrylic.

The spine of the book, with a human spine. For comparison purposes.

Douglas Coupland. This is sort of a caricature...the proportions look a bit off in this picture. I think he looks much less shifty in the actual thing.

The first sentence of the book. (Note: shadow is here for dramatic effect. Also because it's on a huge piece of paper that I had to lay on the floor and stand over to take a picture of.)

The last sentence of the book.

The end of the book. :)

photographs

The top one is a blurred macro I took of my mother reading to my little brother in his bed, surrounded by a string of fairy-lights. The second one, a slightly sharper focus, was taken through a pair of 3-d glasses (that aren't actually 3-d, they just add a prism sort of effect to light) of my brother after the story, asleep.

fire in winter

These are some photographs I took of a fire (a very large fire) in the snow, at night. The top one is the light from the flames on some old abandoned farm houses. The video I took after running in snow boots back to the house to grab my camera -- you can hear my creepy panting in the background.
